Anna Wyrzykowska, partner at WKB, was elected on 28 August by the General Assembly of AIJA (Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats / International Association of Young Lawyers) to the position of First Vice President of the Association. Anna is the first lawyer from Poland with such a high position on the board of AIJA, one of the most important international legal organizations in the world, and which has been operating since 1962.

AIJA is an international association of lawyers under the age of 45. The Association promotes the basic principles of the rule of law and human rights. It is also a place for intercultural dialogue, exchange of industry experiences and professional development of lawyers.

„Anna has undoubtedly proven her value as Treasurer in the Bureau this past year, showing dedication and a swift strategy throughout COVID Times. It is therefore a privilege for us to welcome her as First Vice President, not only because she has the leadership and experience, but also because she embodies the true values of AIJA. I am looking forward to our future cooperation together with Paola Fudakowska and cannot wait to pursue an ambitious agenda in those uncertain time. But with Anna on board, nothing can possibly go wrong.” – François Barre, AIJA President

Anna, as a partner at WKB, is focused on real estate, M&A transactions and corporate law. She heads WKB’s real estate practice and is a co-head of the firm’s French Desk. Anna is also a lecturer on corporate and real estate law at the Warsaw Bar Association and an author of numerous publications, including two commentaries on company law.

“I consider my new position on the AIJA board as an honor, but also a great responsibility. The changing reality presents us with many challenges. The strength of our organization, in my opinion, lies in the possibility for exchanging professional experiences and ideas arising in different parts of the world. Among other things, we see a constant need to speak out on matters of human rights protection. Also, we will consistently launch initiatives related to the future of the legal industry and look for innovative solutions that will allow us to improve our skills and meet the needs of our clients in the post-Covid era.” says Anna Wyrzykowska.

“We know how much determination and hard work it took to achieve this success, which is why we sincerely congratulate Anna on being elected to such a prestigious position. We are glad that she is the first person from Poland to help lead this global legal organization. Anna’s success is also confirmation that our development strategy, pursued from the beginning, and strongly based on international relations and involvement in cross-border projects, is viable. We will wholeheartedly support Anna in her new duties.” adds Aleksander Stawicki, partner at WKB.

AIJA is the only global organization of its kind, currently with around 4,000 members and operating for almost 60 years.
