Agnieszka Chwiałkowska is an expert in public procurement law recognized by Chambers Europe. She specializes in advising firms from, among others, the energy, transportation and municipal sectors, and advises both contracting entities and tenderers. She has been with WKB since 2006. She has taken part in the implementation of numerous investments, including those with strategic importance for national security. She has advised, among others, MPK w Poznaniu Sp. z o.o. in respect of an innovative project regarding the construction of charging infrastructure for road-based mass transit services (being part of a larger and more extensive electromobility project in Polish mass transit), and also in respect of the award and performance of a contract for the introduction of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) at a branch of Tauron Dystrybucja S.A., which is one of the main pillars of the Smart City Wrocław project.

Dorota Karczewska specializes in competition and consumer protection law. She has been with WKB since 2019. For many years she worked at the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), where, among other functions, she served as the Vice-President responsible for the consumer division, including the trade inspection authority. She has twice been included among the “50 most influential lawyers” in Poland by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. She has supported the firm’s clients from the financial sector in implementing guidelines resulting from recent CJEU judgments on consumer law matters. She has also advised leading businesses in the e-commerce and FMCG sectors in developing their trading policies to comply with current law. She has supervised numerous projects concerning the implementation of regulations regarding the expansion of consumer protections to sole traders.

Łukasz Czekański has been with the firm for the past 17 years. He currently manages the tax law practice and is the co-head of the state aid and EU funds practice. He advises businesses on tax structuring matters in merger and acquisition transactions, provides ongoing tax advice, and represents firms in tax and administrative court proceedings. In recent years he provided tax advice on, among others, the acquisition of 100% of shares in Korona Candles S.A. by BC Bavarian Candles Expansion GmbH, and previously served as the chief advisor to BGK during the implementation of the JEREMIE initiative (which provided financial support to SME’s in the form of repayable financial instruments). He also advises entities from the Energix group on tax matters related to the management of wind farms.
