We are pleased to announce that Damian Olko, economist with many years of experience covering advisory services in business matters, has joined WKB’s competition and consumer law team as Senior Economist.

Damian is an experienced advisor and economic analyst. In the past years, he has worked as a manager and senior consultant in Deloitte’s economic analysis team, where, among others, he carried out analyses of the impact of key economic trends, regulations, and public policies, cooperating with legal and financial advisory teams. Together with other experts, he closed dozens of projects for private and public sector entities and international organizations. Before he joined Deloitte, Damian had worked as a market analyst at PKP S.A. and an economic expert at Employers of Poland. He specializes in applied economics, i.e. practical use of quantitative theories and methods to evaluate costs and benefits of decisions or phenomena affecting a market, sector, or the entire economy.

He has been a member of the Polish Economic Society for over 5 years.

The “economization” of competition law is a phenomenon we have been witness to for years, also in Poland. With so many very complex projects behind us, we have increasingly recognized the enormous value that lies in the possibility to combine the different perspectives of lawyers and economists. Our clients are also increasingly looking for interdisciplinary advice,’ says Aleksander Stawicki, partner and head of WKB’s competition and consumer law practice. ‘In this context, the decision to invite a person as experienced as Damian to join us is a natural step in the development of our team. I’m convinced that this move, which, as far as I know, is a pioneering initiative on the Polish market, will ensure better and more effective support to our clients,’ he adds.
