The Act on specific support instruments in relation to the spread of SARS-CoV-2 entered into force. This Act amends, among others, the Act of 2 March 2020 on special arrangements for the prevention, counteracting and combating of COVID-19, other infectious diseases and crisis situations caused by them ("Shield Act") and introduces a number of new solutions applicable during the state of epidemic.

WKB Legal Alert | Shareholders’ register – as from 16 May 2020 important terms concerning the implementation of shareholders’ register have been changed
Due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the functioning of companies’ bodies, including fulfilling their obligations related to implementation of the shareholders’ register, has been significantly impeded. In order to facilitate its implementation by entrepreneurs, pursuant to the Act of 14 May 2020 (Official Journal dated 15 May 2020 item 875) amending certain laws concerning protection measures in connection with the spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus (further, the "Shield 3.0"), which entered into force on 16 May 2020, the deadlines provided by law for the shareholders’ register have been postponed.

New Year’s promotions
We are delighted to announce that in line with our New Year's tradition, the team of partners and counsels at WKB has expanded. Klaudia Frątczak-Kospin and Piotr Grabarczyk, who were counsels in the restructuring and insolvency team have now been nominated to the position of partners. Promotions to counsels were granted to Paulina Maślak-Stępnikowska and Aleksandra Bączykowska from the intellectual property law team, Aleksandra Dziurkowska from the competition and consumer law team, Jarosław Kola PhD from the public procurement law team and Natalia Kabacińska, Piotr Gajek and Wiktor Iwański PhD from the dispute resolution team.
