WKB supported InteliLex, the winning team of the Polish phase of the Global Legal Hackathon 2019, in their participation in the competition’s finale, which was held on 4 May, 2019, in New York. The Polish team was selected as one of three winning teams, beating 11 other teams from across the world (altogether, approx. 60 people participated in the finale, from among more than 6000 entrants).

The solution presented by the team – the InteliLex app – is an algorithm aimed at making it easier to draft legal documents. It focuses on the particular words and terms used in agreements – while we type, InteliLex suggests passages of text which we (or other users in our organization) have already written in the past in a sidebar. The goal is to optimise work on documents, as well as to make the process faster and more efficient.

The members of the winning team were Agnieszka Poteralska, Maciej Zalewski, Tomasz Żmuda, Ignacy Janiszewski, Artur Tanona, Yaroslav Shmarov and Karol Kłaczyński. For more information on the app and the team’s work, please visit their official website.

The Global Legal Hackathon is a unique event that combines programming and law, the aim of which is to develop innovative tech and business solutions for use in the legal sector. In addition to the support provided to the team in connection with their participation in the finale, WKB Wierciński, Kwieciński, Baehr also co-sponsored the Polish edition of the competition.
