We are excited to announce that WKB Wierciński, Kwieciński, Baehr law firm has partnered with Warsaw’s Ateneum Theatre (Teatr Ateneum im. Stefana Jaracza w Warszawie) to serve as the institution’s exclusive Legal Partner. The partnership will have WKB supporting the Theatre team’s legal matters related in particular to its continuing development and a forthcoming upgrade of its facilities.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, the Ateneum Theatre is one of Warsaw’s most renowned and important dramatic institutions. Located at the heart of the vibrant Powiśle district, it is counted as one of the city’s oldest working theatres. Founded with the intention to promote access to culture among the district’s working-class audience, it rapidly gained popularity with both the youth and intellectual crowds, and eventually became Warsaw’s leading theatre in the course of the 1930’s, thanks in part to its innovative performances and egalitarian approach. Over the years it was led by some of the most famous Polish theatre directors, including the likes of Stefan Jaracz, Leon Schiller and Gustaw Holoubek.

Under the current oversight of Mr Paweł Dangel, Ateneum continues to flourish artistically with a broad and diverse repertoire of plays of both Polish and international authors, employing some of the most talented names of the Polish acting scene (including Agata Kulesza, Marcin Dorociński, Julia Kijowska, Artur Barciś, Marian Opania, Joanna Kulig, and Jan Peszek).

“Since its establishment, WKB has been keenly engaged in supporting and developing culture, particularly in collaboration with local institutions in both Warsaw and Poznań” said Jerzy Baehr, WKB’s managing partner. “We are honoured to be able to work with such an interesting and important cultural institution, and we are glad to be able to contribute to its future continuing growth.”
