WKB Legal Alert | New edition of the best practice for GPW listed companies. Evolution or revolution?

The Best Practice for GPW Listed Companies is the code of corporate governance rules which all companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (Giełda Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie; the “Exchange”) Main Market are subject to since 2002 (as soft law). The current edition of the Best Practice, adopted in 2016, was replaced by the Exchange Supervisory Board in its Resolution No. 13/1834/2021 of 29 March 2021, by a new edition (i.e. the Best Practice for GPW Listed Companies 2021) which came into force on 1 July 2021.

WKB advised Energix on financing two wind farms

WKB advised Energix in negotiating and executing a facilities agreement under which the EBRD and Banco Santander will provide PLN 550 million in financing for the construction in Poland of two wind farms which will generate 125.4 MW.

In the latest edition of the Rzeczpospolita Ranking of Law Firms, WKB Wierciński, Kwieciński, Baehr was once again ranked as one of the biggest law firms in Poland, and in the field of energy law, was indicated as a market leader. We were also ranked 7th in terms of the total number of lawyers at the firm and 6th in terms of the number of fully qualified lawyers (advocates and attorneys-at-law). Thus we confirmed our position among the largest law firms in Poland.

WKB advised E&W on the construction of three wind farms

WKB Wierciński, Kwieciński, Baehr has provided advisory services to E&W companies, belonging to Danish Eurowind Energy A/S and Windbud Sp. z o.o., in the process of negotiating and concluding agreements for the construction of wind farms Chodzież (4 V100 wind turbines), Gostynin (1 V100 wind turbine), and Żalęcino (7 V80 wind turbines). These are further E&W’s wind farm projects supported by WKB.
